After a fun filled seven weeks of exciting activities and inspiring entertainment, the Circus finally rolled out of town!
Throughout the first half of term, Carrdus has embraced the Circus theme as a motivating source of learning across the curriculum. Children’s imaginations were sparked into action on the first day of term when the school was host to Happy’s Circus. Families were invited to attend a spectacular show in the Big Top, featuring acrobats, jugglers and clowns.
Around the school, the extravaganza continued; classrooms exploded into colour as the wonder of the circus seemed to know no bounds! Beautiful art work, DT projects, creative writing, history investigations, science projects, even PE, dance and maths activities were all touched by the inspiration of the Circus and the vibrant imagination of a school brought together by a unifying topic.
To round off the Carrdus Circus theme, the whole school was treated to a fantastic performance by Lucas Jet, a remarkable circus performer from Bristol. This was followed by a day of circus skills workshops with each class having the opportunity to learn how to juggle, balance and spin plates, use a diablo and even try riding a unicycle!
After a comprehensive head count to make sure that the greatest show on earth hadn’t claimed any students, Carrdus waved a grateful farewell to a brilliant term with the Circus...
Until next time!
