Carrdus School - The Arts

Confidence and self-esteem are key factors, and it is in these areas that the Arts particularly come into their own. What enables children to develop these aspects of character? They need practice with :

discussing; offering opinions
singing, speaking in public
taking part in choirs, orchestra, instrumental groups
practising role play
working with a choice in art/design media
staging assemblies, concerts and plays
annual poetry, music and art competitions
feeling pride in their art, poetry and 3D work displayed all round school.

Music, art and drama are an integral part of school life, much enjoyed by us all. Many instruments are studied, within and around the school day.

Visiting artists, actors and musicians, as well as theatre/museum trips, provide reinforcement of the importance of a rich and creative life.
