Carrdus Music Competition
Highest congratulations to every student who took part in what turned out to be a very memorable Carrdus Music Competition this year!
Every child in the school had the opportunity to take centre stage in the class heats, where the level of talent, confidence and an aptitude to get up and give it a go, regardless of ability, was exceptional across all classes. Nothing demonstrates more evidently the extent to which children develop not only strong musical skills at Carrdus, but also the confidence and resilience to perform with such apparent ease. After intense and difficult deliberation, finalists were selected from the Upper School based entirely on their performance that day.
The second stage of the competition saw finalists give some truly magical musical performances under the gaze of friends, parents, teachers and this year’s external adjudicator, Mr Alex Redpath. The afternoon included recitals featuring guitar, drum, violin, flute, trombone and singing. A huge well done to all our winners including Chloe (Year 3), Alice (Year 4), Sophia (Year 5) and particularly Eva (Year 6), for being the Year 6 and overall winner of this year’s competition.
Taking part in the annual Carrdus Music Competition is a wonderful achievement for every single pupil who practiced, rehearsed and aspired to find the confidence, creativity and commitment to give their very best!
