Carrdus Christmas Fair 2019
The festive season got well under way this week at Carrdus with the annual spectacular that is the Carrdus Christmas Fair! Described as ‘the biggest and best ever shopping experience’ by the local press and raising funds for ROSY and Katherine House Hospice charities, this year’s event did not disappoint!
With over 50 bustling stalls brimming with an extensive variety of beautiful local artisans’ produce and gifts, shoppers could browse with the confidence that the impressive range of vendors would not leave them lost for present ideas!
Carrdus Christmas Fair has been a much loved fixture of the school calendar for many years and for numerous regular visitors, the magical day marks the start of the Christmas season. The popularity of the Fair has gained momentum over the years, with this year seeing a record breaking volume of entries on the door and queues extending out of the building!
Other highlights on the day included a meet and greet with Santa’s real reindeer, ‘Dasher’ and ‘Comet’, who stayed for the duration of the festivities, while Santa himself took up residence in his enchanted grotto. Shoppers were treated to the delights of Mrs Claus’s Café, serving light refreshments and lunches whilst Lapland Libations, the licenced bar, was serving something a little stronger for the grown-ups! In addition, Fair goers were treated to performances of Christmas songs and carols by the Carrdus School choir, Elfie Selfie Stations and a Tombola for all ages, with prizes generously donated by the stallholders.
With its tangible magical buzz and infectious festive feel, it’s safe to say that Carrdus Christmas Fair 2019 was, by far, the most successful to date; let Christmas commence!
