Ride for Hope 2016
Nic Manners, one of our Carrdus TA’s, has today set off today on the Ride for Hope 2016. Nic is a seasoned cyclist having completed the Ride Prudential 100 at the end of July this year. She will begin her 4 day challenge from Northampton, cycling 270 miles, with 35 other cyclists to Ypres, via the Hook of Holland, raising money for a charity known as The Hope Centre. The Hope Centre is a Northampton day-centre for the people who have had the misfortune of falling on hard times and helps them back into normal life. Her husband, Charles, has been involved in the Hope Centre for the last year. He does not want to cycle but assures her he will be there at the finish!
The Hope Centre gives them just that, “hope”. It offers them fixed address where they can get correspondence for simple things such as job applications and keeping in touch with family and supplies them with fresh clothes, warm food and at least one good meal a day. The centre operate various enterprise schemes to get the clients back into the frame of mind to work normally.
This business works solely on the contributions of the generosity of the public, people like you and me. It costs £30,000 a month to run and without support of events such as the Ride for Hope then the centre couldn’t support its clients.
You can help her raise money for this great cause by donating directly to her fundraising page - https://www.justgiving.com/Nics-rideforhope2016. All cyclists have paid their expenses for the ride, so any money you donate will go straight to the charity. JustGiving sends your donation straight to Northampton Hope Centre and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thank you for your support!
