Carrdus School is a non-selective, independent primary school taking boys aged 3-8 and girls aged 3-11.
Parents may visit the school at any time, either on an Open Morning or for an individual visit arranged through the School Office. The visit will include a tour of the school, with a chance to meet some pupils and staff, followed by a meeting with the Head.
Parents may indicate an interest in a place at the school by completing a Registration Form at any stage. Registration forms are available from the Admissions Secretary or on the school’s website and should be returned with a fee of £50, which is non-refundable. Once the Registration Form and fee have been submitted the registration of a place will then be confirmed by the school in writing.
Parents of registered children will be kept informed of forthcoming Open Mornings (normally in September, March and May), other events and will receive our termly newsletters.
Parents may accept a place at Carrdus for their child by completing and signing an Acceptance Form at any stage, but at least 2 terms before they are due to start, or sooner where applicable. In signing the Acceptance Form, parents are also being asked to acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of the school. Acceptance Forms are available from the Admissions Secretary or on the school’s website and should be returned with a deposit of £300, which is refundable on departure from the school and where this occurs after completion of the Reception Year. Once the Acceptance Form and deposit have been submitted the acceptance of a place will then be confirmed by the school in writing.
Pupils can join the school at any age providing there is room within the particular year group. We reserve a right to close a class list if it becomes necessary. We specify that a term’s notice is required or a term’s fees will be forfeit in lieu.
New pupils are invited to spend a ‘Taster Day’ at school in the term prior to their entry where they can meet staff, the pupils in their class and also purchase any sports kit required. Nursery children are invited to come in for an hour’s ‘Come and Play Session’ with a parent/carer in the term prior to their entry. References will be requested from current schools/nurseries.
