Carrdus School is a non-selective, independent day prep school taking girls and boys aged 3-11, on the borders of Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.
Parents may visit the school at any time, either on an Open Morning or for an individual visit arranged through the School Office. The visit will include a tour of the school, with a chance to meet some pupils and staff, followed by a meeting with the Head.
Parents may indicate an interest in a place at Carrdus by completing a Registration Form at any stage. Registration Forms are available from Jane Cozens, Admissions Registrar, or by clicking on the above link. The completed Registration Form should be returned with a Registration Fee of £300, of which £50 which is non-refundable, to the Admissions Registrar. Once the Registration Form and Registration Fee have been received the registration of a place will then be confirmed by the school in writing.
Parents of registered children will be kept informed of forthcoming Open Mornings (normally in September, March and May), other events and will receive our termly newsletters.
Parents may accept a place at Carrdus for their child by completing and signing an Acceptance Form at any stage, usually two terms before they are due to start but sooner where applicable. In signing the Acceptance Form, which is part of the Parent Contract, parents are also being asked to acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of the school. The Parent Contract and Acceptance Form will be sent from the Admissions Secretary. The signed Acceptance Form should be signed by both parents and returned to the Admissions Secretary as soon as possible. Once the Acceptance Form has been received the acceptance of a place will then be confirmed by the school in writing.
Pupils can join the school at any age providing there is room within the particular year group. We reserve a right to close a class list if it becomes necessary. We specify that a term’s notice is required or a term’s fees will be forfeit in lieu.
New pupils are invited to spend a ‘Taster Day’ at school in the term prior to their entry where they can meet staff, the pupils in their class and also purchase any sports kit required. Nursery children are invited to come in for an hour’s ‘Come and Play Session’ with a parent/carer in the term prior to their entry. References will be requested from current schools/nurseries.
