Our academic standards are high. Children are encouraged and extended, without selecting or streaming, by:  

• excellent class and specialist teachers
• small group and individual work as well as class work
• precise differentiation of work for each child
• extension and remedial work as part of the curriculum.

Our well-balanced weekly curriculum consists of English, Maths, Science, Environmental Studies, History, Geography, Religious Education, PSHE, ICT, Art & Design, French, Latin (Year 6), Drama, Music and Sport.

We have one year-group per class. The pupil/teacher ratio is 9 to 1. Children in the first four years have 1-1 reading daily. Exams are an integral and un-feared part of school routine, leading to regular excellent exam successes and scholarships.

• 11+ Common Entrance and entrance exams for High Schools, Grammar, boarding and maintained schools
• National Curriculum Key Stage 1 and 2
• boys’ transfer exams at 7 or 8.
